Did you know that as a Girl Scout, you are a part of a worldwide sisterhood? Girl Scouts USA is part of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) which includes girls from 150 countries! Every year, WAGGGS and Girl Scouts celebrate World Thinking Day; a day specifically designed to learn about food, music and culture from parts of the world we aren’t exposed to and experience them firsthand.
This World Thinking Day we are switching things up a bit from our traditional structure of girls choosing and researching their countries before hosting a booth to something new that will excite Girl Scouts of ALL ages. That’s right, this year will be much different—in the best way possible!

Older Girl Scout Events
Many older girls requested their own World Thinking Day tailored to them and we heard you LOUD and CLEAR! Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will be able to celebrate World Thinking Day by enjoying an Indian culinary dinner with their fellow older Girl Scouts. There will be some guests of honor to host dinner conversations about cultural topics, including study abroad and planning travel as a young adult. After this cultural dinner, you’ll take part in fun activities in order to earn the World Thinking Day award.
Younger Girl Scout Events
Using their five senses (sight, sound, touch, taste and feel), Girl Scouts will work together to discover where Juliette Gordon Low is—similar to “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego”. In this fun and interactive game, Girl Scouts will experience new cultures different from their own.
All programs include the official World Thinking Day award.
