Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana 2020 Annual Report
As a resilient and nimble organization, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana responded swiftly and effectively to the impacts of COVID-19 by pausing all in-person Girl Scout programs. Almost overnight, w
e transformed our delivery
We continued to focus on our four core pillars—STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship—and bolstered programs that supported girls’ mental health, mitigated learning loss, and helped girls reflect the values of justice and fairness.

“Wanted to let you know how much our girls and their friends enjoyed the Movie Magic. They are from three different troops – a rising Cadette, three rising Juniors, and a second year Daisy.
“By the storyboard day, they were “all-in” on making their own movie and that consumed all of their thinking and time! “The teamwork, the creative energy, the diligence and persistence, and the conflict resolution were all at play, the Girl Scout way, over the course of the week. On Friday and Saturday, they invited family and neighbors to an outdoor, socially distant, red carpet premiere.
“The whole experience made their summer (or, as my nine-year-old said, “saved the summer from boring ruin.”) Thank you so much!”
